Award-winning Arts Documentaries
We are an independent arts and biography documentary production company.
Based in London, we create films that capture the notable lives and legacies of some of the most influential figures in theatre, literature, music and public life. Recent productions include the award-winning 'The Remarkable life of Bernard Levin', aired on BBC Four in 2025, and 'Alexander Pope Rediscovering a Genius'.
Free To Watch Online
All our films are available to stream on YouTube – free of charge, no subscription required – because we believe intelligent, high-quality documentaries should be accessible to all.
In addition, the Arts Biography YouTube channel offers a platform for other independent producers to host their films at no cost to them. We make it simple for inspiring arts and biography filmmakers to get their work seen by a wider audience.

Global Recognition
Our films have been seen by audiences worldwide, broadcast across the UK & US by ITV, BBC, and PBS.
We’ve worked with critically acclaimed actors including Ian McKellen, John Cleese, Ralph Fiennes, and Derek Jacobi.

Thought-provoking interviews with notable public figures, such as Arianna Huffington and Margaret Thatcher, feature in our productions.
Team
The company was founded in 1982 by Peter Bevan, later joined by his daughter Sophie. For over 40 years, the award-winning production house has been creating high-quality documentaries and dramas for television in collaboration with the BBC, ITV and PBS. It remains part of a substantial family owned group based in the UK.
